Uses for Mixtape Beats

,
HOW TO MAKE RAP BEAT:

There are all kinds of musicians in the world that have great lyrics in their head or scribbled down on a napkin somewhere by their bed. Unfortunately, those great lyrics will never find a mixtape beat to call home if the artist doesn't locate an entire band and music studio. Well, that is it how it used to be.

Uses for Mixtape Beats

In this age of internet and computer technology, lyricists can write complex lyrics to their heart's content and never have to worry about the instrumental side of the project. That's because it's already taken care of by other artists and websites that specialize in making mixtape beats and rap instrumentals.

Some rap artists may need difference aspects, or genres, of rap beat to make the proper background. There are several to choose from, depending on the style of your lyrics. There are dirty south beats, east coast rap beats, and modern club beats. These three cover almost every type of mixtape beats that are available.

Why Use a Mixtape Beat?
Using a downloaded mixtape beat over creating one of your own offers several advantages. The first is speed. If you're already got the lyrics figured out but you are in a rush to get the rest of the project completed, then buying rap beats online is the fastest way to go. Even if the lyrics haven't been written yet, starting the project with the beat can be a very inspiring way to write new and better rhymes.

Another less obvious reason to buy online mixtape beats is because the artist may have come to a block in creating new beats. Shopping around at what others are doing, and even downloading some new material, can be inspiring. Even if the newly bought and downloaded rap beat doesn't help produce new material as hoped, it can still be helpful. The purchased beat can be used as a background for any song that the artist writes, that is, after all, what the purchase was meant for in the first place.

Another reason a mixtape beat would be used is to shoot a video or movie scene. Many small moviemakers and producers are always on the lookout for free or cheap musical scores to add to their films. These hip-hop instrumentals have become very popular with film students and independents around the world.

Once you've bought the Mixtape Beats, you can use the editing equipment already downloaded in your computer to play the beats one by one while you start integrating your own lyrics, making it true hip-hop. Most computers made in the last two years will usually have some form of basic music editor built in the laptop or desktop. If not, some musical editing software can be had at local stores such as Walmart or Best-Buy and cost no more than USD. With the software and more rap instrumentals available than ever before at your fingertips, there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to make the most of your lyrics or film.

People think it is difficult to make rap beats. To tell you honestly, the only thing that makes it difficult is the fact that you need to make it sound original. If you want to know how to make your own rap beats, you simply need persistence and ensure that you will not give up. The problem with many aspiring rappers is they easily give up. Below you will see step by step procedures on how you can make rap beats that you can call entirely your own.

Top Notch Steps on How to Make Your Own Rap Beats

First off, you need to have a grasp of rhythm. You will not learn how to make your own rap beats if you will not understand your own rhythm. To do this, just listen to any instrumental beat and get the rhythm. Start bobbing your head and get the feel of the music. Then you can start working on your won flow. Keep in mind that when you make rap beats, the melody should still be there and that you should not change beat numbers. For example, if you used a 4-beat method n the first stanza, you should use the same in the second or third stanza, you can only change in the chorus.

If you want to add lyrics to the beat you made, you may want to have a dictionary at bay or close to you. Since the beat is something that needs consistency, the word count should also be kept to a minimum without distorting the message. There are urban dictionaries that you can use if you want to learn how to make your own rap beat and improve it as well.

Lastly, do not stop practicing. Learning how to make your own rap beats is tedious and may become frustrating at times. Keep in mind that glory does not come without sweat and blood. As you progress, you will be able to develop your own style more firmly and you should be able to grasp your rhythm faster.

Now Pay Close Attention Here-

Electrolyte Replacement is Important For Summer Exercise

,
HOW TO MAKE RAP BEAT:

It's summer! The days are longer, the weather is warmer, and kids are off from school. We all want to play more in the summer, taking advantage of longer days and nicer weather. With our coastline and mountains, San Diego is a Mecca for outdoor activity. Surfing, swimming, in-line skating, running, bicycling, mountain biking, rock climbing, and a wide variety of team sports are the tip of the iceberg for our summer activities.

Electrolyte Replacement is Important For Summer Exercise

We're all taught to make sure we drink enough water during exercise. Many health care providers recommend drinking at least eight glasses of water per day, and more during the summer or while exercising. What doesn't get mentioned is that drinking much more than this can dilute essential minerals and electrolytes which can cause a whole host of problems. I learned this firsthand while on a bicycle tour in the midwest during one of the most severe heat waves Missouri has seen in June! I found myself drinking nearly 3 gallons of water daily to keep from being thirsty, which filled my belly so much it was hard to eat enough calories to sustain 70-mile days on a bicycle. Even eating salty snacks, salting my food more than usual, and taking a double dose of my usual potassium, multi-mineral, and calcium supplements had me barely keeping up with electrolytes. Several people on the ride spent an afternoon in the emergency room for an IV of Ringer's solution after suffering severe heat exhaustion and electrolyte depletion. This type of emergency can easily be avoided if you pay attention to electrolytes in addition to fluid intake alone.

What are electrolytes, and why do we need them?

In chemistry, every atom has a certain number of protons (positively charged) and electrons (negatively charged). A stable atom has an equal number of protons and electrons, and has no electrical charge. An ion is an atom that has an uneven number of protons and electrons, giving it a positive or negative electrical charge. An electrolyte is any substance containing free ions that behaves as an electrically conductive medium.

In physiology, the primary ions of electrolytes are sodium (Na+), potassium (K+), calcium (Ca2+), magnesium (Mg2+), and chloride (Cl−). The electric charge symbols of plus (+) and minus (−) indicate that the substance in question is ionic in nature and has an imbalanced distribution of electrons.

Both muscles and nerves are considered electric tissues. Muscles and nerves are activated by electrolyte activity between interstitial fluid (fluid between the cells) and intercellular fluid (fluid within the cells). Electrolytes may enter or leave a cell through the cell membrane and are required for a variety of cellular functions. For example, muscle contraction is dependent upon the presence of calcium (Ca2+), sodium (Na+), and potassium (K+). Without sufficient levels of these key electrolytes, muscle weakness or severe muscle contractions may occur.

Electrolyte balance is maintained by intake of electrolyte-containing substances, and is regulated by hormones as well as by the kidneys. back to top

Which electrolytes do we need?

Sodium
While sodium gets a bad rap from the people concerned about blood pressure, it is actually required for a variety of cellular functions and we can't live without it. A human being requires approximately 500mg of sodium per day for basic physiological functions. Sodium is one of the minerals required for nerve impulses to occur (nerve impulses facilitate every message from the brain to our muscles and internal organs). It is also important for maintaining appropriate blood volume.

For most of us, the issue with sodium is overconsumption rather than underconsumption. Most processed foods contain outrageous amounts of sodium, so it is easy to consume far more than 500mg/day. Consumption of large amounts of sodium can become problematic for people with kidney problems or high blood pressure.

When we exercise on hot days, thirst often drives us to drink far more water than we ordinarily would. This is good to a point - once you become thirsty, you are already dehydrated. But, drinking too much water can lead to water intoxication or hyponatremia (low levels of sodium in the blood). Symptoms of sodium imbalance include headache, general malaise, nausea, and vomiting. When levels drop below a certain point, hyponatremia can be life threatening.

Almond et al. (1) found hyponatremia in as many as 13% of runners in a recent Boston Marathon, with life-threatening hyponatremia in 0.6%. The runners at greatest risk of serious water intoxication had moderate weight gain during the race due to excessive water consumption.

Sodium is not the only mineral which becomes diluted when we drink too much water. Potassium, magnesium, calcium, manganese, selenium, and other trace minerals can also become diluted in the bloodstream. back to top

Potassium
Potassium is required for all cellular communication and nerve conduction. It is present in a variety of foods, including almonds, bananas, cucumbers, apricots, avocados, tomatoes, potatoes (especially the skins), wheat germ, and others. Low potassium in the blood stream is called hypokalemia.

Mild hypokalemia is often without symptoms, although it may cause a small elevation of blood pressure and can occasionally lead to an irregular heart beat. Moderate hypokalemia may cause muscular weakness, muscle aching, muscle cramps (due to disturbed function of the skeletal muscles), and constipation (from disturbed function of smooth muscles). back to top

Calcium
Calcium is required for healthy bones, normal muscle contraction, and nerve conduction. Dietary sources of calcium include milk products, broccoli, cauliflower, pinto beans, aduki beans, soybeans, almonds, brazil nuts, hazelnuts, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, molasses, and others.

Mild calcium deficiency (as could occur during exercise as opposed to long term dietary deficiency) can cause muscle cramps, heart palpitations, numbness or tingling in the hands and feet, irritability, and mental confusion.

A recent study showed that competitive cyclists have a much greater than average chance of osteoporosis because intense physical exercise over long periods of time can deplete calcium in the body. (4,5)

Magnesium, vitamin C, and vitamin D are needed to aid absorption of calcium. back to top

Magnesium
Magnesium is involved in several hundred enzymatic reactions in the human body, many of which contribute to production of energy (conversion of glucose to ATP) and cardiovascular function. It is the "anti-stress" mineral as it functions to relax skeletal muscles as well as the smooth muscles of the blood vessels and digestive tract. It is essential for modulating the electrical potential of cell membranes which allows nutrients to get into and out of cells.

Symptoms of magnesium deficiency can include fatigue, lack of appetite, irritability, insomnia, muscle tremors, and muscle twitching. Severe magnesium deficiency can lead to muscle cramping, mental confusion, and spasm of the coronary artery.

Dietary sources of magnesium include dark green vegetables, almonds, pecans, cashews, brazil nuts, wheat bran, wheat germ, millet, brown rice, avocado, dried apricot, and soy products. back to top

How do we get enough electrolytes while staying hydrated?

For mild to moderate exercise (say 60-90 minutes of moderate-intensity activity), eating some salted almonds, dried apricots, avocado, bananas, or pickles after your workout is probably sufficient. 1/8 tsp of sea salt in one of your water bottles or one bottle of sports drink wouldn't hurt, but you're probably OK without. Plain old iodized salt contains only sodium chloride, and lacks the other trace minerals found in sea salt, so sea salt is what you need for this application!

For more extreme exercise (say riding a mountain bike for 4 hours in 100 degree heat), you will need an electrolyte replacement sports drink for at least 50% of your fluid intake. You may need additional supplements for potassium, calcium, magnesium, and vitamin C. Camelbak's Elixir product contains all these minerals in an easy to carry tablet form which dissolves quickly without powdery residue in your water bottle. (No, I am NOT a representative for Camelbak, nor do I sell their products. I've just been happy with my experience with the Elixir!) Many companies are now making jelly beans, jelly blocks, and other chewy electrolyte replacement products. My favorites (based on my taste preference AND a high percentage of organic ingredients with minimal artificial stuff) include Sharkies electrolyte chews and Cliff Blocks.

If you are routinely doing extreme exercise (more than one day per week), you should also take a basic multi- mineral supplement which provides the macro minerals discussed in this article along with a whole host of trace minerals. I would be happy to make recommendations, and I do carry a multi-mineral supplement in my office. back to top

First aid for electrolyte depletion during exercise

Should you find yourself feeling undue fatigue, malaise, lightheadedness, disorientation, nausea, vomiting, palpitations, muscle aching, or muscle cramping during a warm weather workout, STOP what you are doing!

Get inside and cool off, have a glass of cool apple juice with ¼ tsp of salt in it and a banana or pickle if your stomach allows.

If you do not feel better within 30 minutes, seek medical attention - you may be in a state of electrolyte depletion which requires IV replacement to prevent a medical emergency.

Be safe, and have fun with your summer activities!

Making Beats and Music on Your PC

,
HOW TO MAKE RAP BEAT:

Wouldn't it be nice if you could create your own pieces of music on your PC quickly and easily? Not only some simple songs but full fledged pop, rap or techno sound - including cool beats and bass lines?

Making Beats and Music on Your PC

Making your own beats and music on used to require very expensive studio equipment such as synthesizers and sequencers that you could easily end up with spending several thousand bucks for. Yes of course there has always been music software on PCs and all types of home computers but usually this software was pretty amateurish.

The rule of thumb was that if you could produce a sound on your home computer quickly and easily then it also sounded like that: quick, easy and home-made.

This only changed recently when PCs and notebooks got more and more powerful that they could handle music software that used full quality 16bit wave table sounds with 44kHz. This is basically the quality the professional music producers use.

Now even professional music producers start using their PCs for makings beats and baselines. Usually the pros still use their keyboards to play the actual songs but they will use the music software on the PC as a sequencer.

Needless to say that if you want to use your computer not only to store the sequences but to actually synthesize the sounds or to play the actual sounds stored as samples you will need a high quality sound card. Also this sound card should be free from interferences.

Recently another alternative has emerged: Internet based music studios. You basically go online from any computer and compose your music in a web application. Everything is done on the server, arranging and storing the sounds and the rendering of the final piece of music. This means you no longer depend on your own system resources.

Of course this is an option primarily for beginners - but a clever and comfortable one. You don't need to install anything or worry about installing sounds and samples. Everything is done online. You just need to export the songs as MP3 or WAV-file.

When you look for a home music software and you plan to work with professional musicians or studios please make sure the software you choose is able to export songs in WAV-format (wave file) - not only as MP3. While MP3 is the standard in music for consumers it has severe limitations and is not accepted among pros.

Whatever piece of software you choose make sure you read the reviews first and check how many samples the software gives you without having to invest in expensive sound libraries.

So before you start buying any piece of software that promises the world but does not deliver what you actually need read my reviews of beat making software on my new site here: http://www.beatmakingsoftwarereview.net/

Network Marketing Secrets - Give Me a Break

,
HOW TO MAKE RAP BEAT:

If you've been involved in Network Marketing for any length of time, I'm sure you've heard these before...

Network Marketing Secrets - Give Me a Break

  • "The Secrets your upline doesn't want you to know about..."
  • "My Secret System for recruiting 156 Prospects in my downline in only a week."
  • "The Secrets I use to get hungry prospects to join my MLM business every single day."
  • "The secret technique I use to".....BLAH BLAH BLAH, you get the picture.

Now I'm sure SOME of these people are doing this (although I would venture to say that it is a very small minority of them), but what they don't tell you is the time it takes to get there. Let me explain.

Any business that is worth building that can make you a fortune takes time to build. That's just a fact. Look around at all the success stories that took place, not just on the internet, but in any other business online or off.

Nine times out of ten, the story will be that it took a while for the initial profits to start rolling in. It wasn't an overnight success story. It took work and persistence to get to a certain level.

But what they lead you to believe is that, through there sales letters, you can reach these milestones in no time flat. That getting the," 156 Prospects in my downline in only a week," thing is actually doable in a week. Sorry, but no.

And that's how Network Marketing and MLM get a bad rap. People fall for the sales gimmick and join, but when they try those so called "Network Marketing Secrets," for themselves and don't get the same results in the same amount of time (a week), they give up and say it doesn't work. Some will even be so jaded that they will call it a scam.

Now let me be the first to say that Network Marketing is NOT a scam, and it is a very viable way to become wealthy, if done correctly. But if you take nothing else from this article, take this;

That MLM is a viable, legitimate business that can get you to whatever financial goals that you set for yourself, whether it be 00 a month, or seven plus figures a month. But what you have to understand is that where there is an industry where unheard of money can be made, so will there be some bad apples in the bunch. It's just a fact of life.

But the real "Network Marketing Secret" that no one really talks about (because it's not sexy and doesn't sell) is that it will take time, effort, persistence, and knowledge to get to high earning status.

But the great news is that once you do reach the top of the mountain, the thing that beats the money you would have made is the sense of accomplishment. It is that sense of accomplishment that you feel inside that changes you. And there is no better feeling in the world than the feeling of true accomplishment through your own actions. No amount of money can ever beat that.

Now take that Network Marketing Secret and get to work!

Lil' Kim Mixtapes And How They Affected Her Career

,
HOW TO MAKE RAP BEAT:

Kimberly Jones, known to her fans as Lil' Kim, is a singer, songwriter, rapper, and actress.Growing up in Brooklyn, New York, and spending most of her young life in poverty, she started her music career with a group known as Junior M.A.F.I.A in 1995. Like most young up-and-coming hip hop artists, Lil' Kim mixtapes helped to pave her way to fame and fortune.

Lil' Kim Mixtapes And How They Affected Her Career

Her debut album with the Junior M.A.F.I.A group was called Conspiracy and resulted in three chart-topping singles, which led to the release of her solo album in 1996 entitled Hard Core. This hip hop album went platinum twice, and contained hits that topped the charts, such as "Crush on You" and "No Time." The following albums she released were La Bella Mafia in 2003 and The Notorious K.I.M in 2000, with both being very successful as well.

Though mixtapes helped with her rise to fame, her meeting and interaction with The Notorious B.I.G. was key in both her artistic and personal life. When Notorious B.I.G. gained popularity and major influence among the hip hop community, Lil' Kim was along for the ride. From 1997 through 2000, Lil' Kim continued her road to stardom under the management of B.I.G.'s best friend.

During this rise to fame, many Lil' Kim mixtapes were released that truly showed off her hip hop beats. Some of these include titles such as, Lil Kim Vs. Foxy Brown, All Hail the Queen, Real Music, and Female Spitta Series. As with most artists attempting to make it in the business, all of these were available for free on the various mixtapes torrents sites online.

Today, after serving over a year in prison for lying to Federal prosecutors about her friends' involvement in a shooting, she is back to make her mark on the rap world. She continues to release the Lil' Kim mixtapes that made her famous and even appeared on Dancing With the Stars to help clear her name and image. Only time will tell just how much of an impact this diva will have on the rap culture.

Get Moving Tonight With Toby Mac

,
HOW TO MAKE RAP BEAT:

We like to move it move it! Do you like to move it move it? You know, one of the ways to keep that New Year work-out fresh is to pump up the volume. We are highly recommending Toby Mac's newly released CD "TONIGHT" because we want to make sure that the music you choose will not only get you moving but also offer you some inspiration. That's because music is really powerful!

Get Moving Tonight With Toby Mac

Think about it... are there songs or sounds that take you down memory lane? When I hear the tune of the ice cream truck I see myself, my sister and our neighbors asking for coins and running after the truck.

When I hear Anita Baker songs I think of the concert my then fiance took me to before our wedding in 1995.
Then there are the lyrics. Are there lyrics that you can sing although you haven't heard the song in years? We were meeting and talking about music for our DVDs and got on the subject of rap. And out of the blue I recited most of the lyrics to "La di da di" and "Double Dutch Bus." Don't ask... but remarkably without thinking they came.

Some how songs stick with you. That can be good or bad. It's not just the tune or the beat. The lyrics can influence your thought life directly or indirectly. They can encourage you or desensitize you into lowering your Biblical standards. Don't take it for granted. Your thought life matters. Proverbs 23:7 tells us that "as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he..." So we encourage you to guard your thoughts and be selective about what you put in.

Don't worry. Guarding your heart and mind will not leave you with bland hum drum music. Toby's new CD is HOT! Lot's of great beats, smooth sounds and uplifting lyrics. With titles like City on our Knees, Hey Devil, Funky Jesus Music, and Changed Forever you are bound to get Full on the Word and take your work-out to an all time high! So pick up the CD or download it, plug-in and get moving.

Rap Beat Maker Programs Simplify the Process

So what exactly is a rap beat maker program? It's a software that helps you make beats using advanced technology and preprogramed sounds and professional behind-the-scenes equipment that allows you to produce high-quality synchronized instrumentals.

There are several choices of software that make it to where you can easily learn how to make your own beats without having to know how to play keyboard. For any beginning producer or experienced producer this can make instrumentals a lot faster and more professional than a regular keyboard.

The rap beat maker programs that I use are extremely simple to use, lets you mix the music, allows you to sell the beats that you make and use them. I personally cannot go back to using a keyboard. The rap beat maker programs are so much easier and are online and affordable.

The keyboard that I bought cost me 00, but I was told it was worth every penny. The software that I bought was under , and makes better beats, with better quality than my keyboard. Ask yourself this, do you want to spend 2 to 3 years mastering a keyboard and pay 100 times the price?

If I could go back in time I would start using my rap beat maker program immediately, and not even give the keyboard a chance, because I know ultimately that my weapon of choice is a simple to use online software to make great instrumentals.

Make Beats on Computer Fast, Cheap and Easy

,
HOW TO MAKE RAP BEAT:

The most successful rap artists in the business work with the most gifted and talented producers, programmers, musicians, and recording engineers to help them bring their vision into reality. A new talent on the scene has some challenging decisions to face. Should you spend a lot of cash and hours on expensive equipment or focus on finding rap beats online? The fully produced royalty free rap instrumentals from the net can be a very cost effective option, especially if you are just putting together a demo to showcase your talent.

Make Beats on Computer Fast, Cheap and Easy

This online option takes a very small investment and you end up with a great sounding beat which you can upload to various wav. files or mp3.If you have never heard of meaning non exclusive, what this means is you have just about complete ownership of the instrumental for your own desires. If you confront a site that has exclusive right then make sure to read carefully what those right are. For the most part an exclusive site is more expensive because they allow the user to remove the instrumental from the net so the producer is the only one with access to the beat.

If the make beats on computer is your desired choice and honestly it should be for the money then your only responsibility is to check on the quality of the demos offered by the site you are looking at. Are the make beats on computer pro sounding? Is their a demo for the make beats on computer and if so do they sound good? How will the make beats on computer create your beat i.e. what format? Will you have the tools necessary to convert the file into some other format if you needed to? Just a not sometimes the producer who made the beat is a poor music engineer.

Also it is important to say that just because a producer of make beats on computer is in the top ten searches doesn't mean their the best. Often these top ten are the best but it doesn't hurt to listen to make beats on computer further on to see if their is a talent untapped so listen to a variety of demos on various sites. The reason being that someone further in the query maybe a great producer but awful web designer.

Most likely you will encounter a make beats on computer site that gives you unlimited instrumentals for an initial joining cost. This is actually the best option just make sure to listen to the quality of the site. What good is it to have access to thousands of rap beats, if the audio quality and production is not up to industry standard?

So now that you make beats on computer are decided on you then need to figure out your choices on audio software to record your vocals. You don't need to invest in a big name software like Sony when you can get away with some budget alternative microphones just do some research and find one that fits your budget and requirements.

In closing, with a small invest for the recording software and inexpensive mic, and a handful of make beats on computer instrumentals, an artist can make the demo of their dreams without breaking the bank.

Be humble: Remember, you are the accused. You stand before the police officer with evidence, witness, and charge against you. You have to prove your innocence. Whether you're guilty or not, the first thing to remember is remember your place in this shuffle.

Even if you've made it to court, and you believe the officer isn't there or won't show up, don't act too bold or cocky as the judge may just stick it to you for trying to pull one over on everyone. And remember, when you think you're fooling everyone, chances are you're NOT fooling anyone!

Be honest: I know, that seems silly to say, especially if you actually were speeding, but the easiest lie to tell is always the truth. Whether that means, "I thought I was going the speed limit" or "I didn't realize the speed limit decreased," whatever! If you're going to tell a fib, make sure it's a true fib. Which leads me to number 3?

Maintain a storyline: If you start telling all sorts of different stories, it's going to stick. The officer or the judge or whoever is going to notice a shift in story; it's their job, it's what they do. So if you're trying to tell a line, make sure you keep the line. If you figure a different line and you think that'll work better, don't try and be slick about it. Just tell them: "Well, I thought ____, but actually, when I thought about it _____." Keeping your stories straight helps keep everyone a little more sane.

Thank them: Police officers and judges are all just doing their job. So if you get pulled over and try and speak to the officer and he gives you the orange slip, thank him! If you contest it, later on in court, the good karma you displayed earlier with the officer on the street, will be well rewarded. In general, an attitude of respect towards people in authority gets you things that disrespect does not.

Speeding tickets are never any fun, for anyone involved. Police would much rather be focusing in on the real crimes being committed and not be chasing around people just trying to test the limits. But if you do get caught speeding, following the tips above can help you get a leg up on anyone else and maybe, just maybe, help you beat the rap.

Instructions On How To Download Mixtapes

,
HOW TO MAKE RAP BEAT:

There are several musicians in today's world that release music for others to enjoy. However, artists generally have a difficult time promoting themselves by releasing music that people have to pay for. There are times when it's beneficial to artists to release some of the music they create for no charge. In the rap and hip hop community, rappers and producers will put out what are called mix tapes. The following info will teach you how to download mixtapes.

Instructions On How To Download Mixtapes

There are several methods in obtaining free music online. First, you should use your favorite search engine to look for a multitude of different musicians that might interest you. See if they have released some free mix tapes that you can get. Generally, the kinds of artists releasing mix tapes are electronic producers or rappers. There are a couple of reasons for this.

Most of the time a hip hop artist will create a unique work that is entirely unique to them. They have either hired someone to make the beats or have made the beats themselves. They say rhymes over what they have created to create something they can truly call their own. Sometimes, however, they might want to rhyme over somebody else's beat. Since they cannot release somebody else's material for purchase, they can still promote themselves by releasing their creations as a mix tape.

When a musician tries to sell a product that uses someone else's work without their permission, they are breaking the law. Musicians will allow mix tapes to be released because they want to do self promotion and showcase their musical ability to the public. Big music companies will threaten to sue musicians that are releasing music that uses someone else's material.

There are many methods in obtaining mix tapes. First, you should see if a certain musician has put their songs on a file sharing website. Then you can directly download the mix tape on to your hard drive.

Second, look around online to find a music forum. Forums are places where people post on message boards and discuss whatever topics they are interested in. If you find a good music message board, you can look around and ask people for some musical recommendations. Most of the time they will be kind enough to post links to songs that you can download from artists that they like.

You can also join a community that uses torrents. A torrent is different from downloading something from a file server in that you are actually sharing files between users. For example, someone will host the file on their computer and other users will be able to download it directly from them.

You should always be sure that what you're downloading is legal. There have been many cases where people try to obtain music that isn't legally available to get for free. Know the rules and be respectful of the artists whose music you are obtaining. Since you now know how to download mixtapes, try to find a new artist that interests you.

Visit our online store to view our inventory of downloadable mixtapes, now. You can also get guidelines on how to download mixtapes on our website, today.

Become a Monster at Making Rap Music Instrumentals - 3 Tips to Make the Best Rap Music Instrumentals

,
HOW TO MAKE RAP BEAT:

What makes a hot rap music instrumental? Is it the sound and how it feels when it hits your ears? If you want to succeed in the hip hop industry you have to know what a hot rap instrumental sounds like, because it is the heart and soul of any rap song. I'm no Dr. Dre, but I know a thing or two about making hot rap instrumentals.

Become a Monster at Making Rap Music Instrumentals - 3 Tips to Make the Best Rap Music Instrumentals

1. Your Instrument Selection Is Key

You have to find the right rhythm were all the instruments compliment each other. Don't just focus on using the basic kick, hi hat, and snare, because this foundation isn't going to make something special. Take your time to add more variety to your instrumental like a ride, a shaker, or a cymbal.

2. The Pattern Of Your Instrumental Is Important

Another important piece of the puzzle is the pattern of your instrumental. If your song has a high bpm your beat pattern should be aggressive. If your song has a slow bpm the beat pattern should be more laid back. Since the early 80's many rap patterns have been duplicated and reused over the years. So it's rare when you hear a fresh and exciting pattern in rap music. Don't be afraid to borrow a pattern from another genre of music and experiment with your sound. It's okay to use your favorite kicks and snares often, but using them repeatedly will hurt your creativity.

3. Your Bassline Will Make The People Groove

Hot rap instrumentals attract a lot of rappers, because every rapper wants to hear their song rattling somone's car speakers or banging hard in the club. You have to learn how to create the basslines for your instrumentals if you want to be good. Your bassline shouldn't be weak, but it can't overpower the other sounds in your song either. Also, try adding another instrumental to play along with the pattern of your bassline.

After you have these 3 components in place your ready to take the next step. The next step is to tweak it and add the little things like sound effects to compliment your instrumental. Before you begin mixing you should critique your work carefully. Don't work under a time limit when your producing your instrumentals. Instead, work on them for how ever long it takes until your satisfied with how everything sounds. Spend some time listening to your song and ask yourself honestly if anybody would want it.

If your serious about producing Rap Music Instrumentals you will become a monster at it over time, you just have to stay focused and keep learning. Click Here and take a look at how you can begin producing HOT RAP INSTRUMENTALS using the right programs to make beats.

The Tao of Resumes - Not How to Write, But Why to Write the Perfect Resume

,
HOW TO MAKE RAP BEAT:

Alright, can we talk frankly about...your resumes? That's right, your resumes. As in plural. As in more than one. Because how many jobs are you applying for? More than one? Bingo.

The Tao of Resumes - Not How to Write, But Why to Write the Perfect Resume

What little hair I have left on my head stands on end when a client tells me they've sent out their RESUME to dozens of different places and got no response. Of course they got no response!

Every job posting represents an employer with a problem. That's what a job is, in essence. It's a business with a problem looking for a solution. You want to be that solution. The thing is, every problem is different. Maybe they want to expand. Maybe they want to tap new opportunities and need someone to help them do that. Maybe they are replacing someone who retired. Each issue is different with a different set of needs and requirements. Your job is to find out what needs there are. Your resume is a sales brochure that must convince that employer that you are the solution to their problem. But you have to know what the problem is! How can it sell you as a solution if you don't have a clue why the job is posted and all you have to offer is a one-size-fits-all document?

Imagine for a moment that you are a door to door salesman who sells tools. But you only have one tool in your box- a screwdriver. Sure, you can drive a nail with a screwdriver. And you may be able to convince Mrs. Jenkins at her front door to buy your screwdriver if there is no other tool around for driving her nail. But you are darn sure going to get beat out by the first person who comes to her door with a hammer.

Now you say, "Wait a minute, Carey, I am only one person with one set of experiences. How can..." I know, I know. I've heard it thousands of times. And the answer is still the same. You can. You can turn your one set of experiences, education, skills and background into a dozen different, distinctly targeted resumes that focus like a laser on a specific job opportunity. You will be the person at Mrs. Jenkin's door offering her the exact tool to fix her problem while all the others stand around with a hammer hoping to find a nail.

This article isn't about how to write a resume. That topic is for another session. This article addresses the "Tao" of resumes. What they are for and why you need to understand that. The material here should be understood before anyone attempts to write a resume.

But first, let's talk about what resumes are for. And it's not what you've been told.

Eight seconds. That's all you've got. When your resume hits the hands of that overworked, underpaid HR "gatekeeper" whose job is to screen 125 applicants for a position that was just posted yesterday, you have to realize that your resume needs to make a first cut in about 8 seconds. About as long as a failed bull rider stays in the saddle at a rodeo.

I have seen more bad resumes than my doctor has seen bad prostrates. And in truth, some days I wish I was the doctor. Don't make a resume like those. Here's how to make that 8 second cut.

1. Feel. Your resume hits the "gatekeeper's" hands before it hits the eye. It must be on crisp, clean heavy weight RESUME paper. Spend the money. Make sure your paper is off-white or light beige. Easy on the eyes. DO NOT try to "stand out" with some kind of weird color. If your resume can't stand on its content, the paper won't make any difference. Oh, and quality paper comes with a "watermark". Years ago I learned the hard way that paper with a watermark has a front and a back. Don't print it backwards. If you don't know what a watermark is, Wikipedia has a good explanation.

2. Balance. Huh? I mean the balance of black and white. Before I even read the content I hold the resume out an arm's length away and look at the overall balance of text to space. Margins, font size, general readability. Too many times people try to cram a life story onto an 8 1/2 by 11 inch piece of paper. If it looks like it's going to hurt me to read it, I'll simply pitch it and go on to the next one. Did I possibly pitch the most brilliant candidate ever to grace the door of my company? Maybe. But remember, I'm that overworked, underpaid H.R. gatekeeper and I don't give a crap. You're gone.

3. Size. Are there too many pages? Come on. This is an entry level associate job in the engineering department. We're looking to hire a fresh college grad. NOBODY has a valid reason to give me a 3-page resume. I couldn't give a squat that you were a sandwich artist while in junior high school. Just tell me the relevant facts why you're the one to solve my problem!

OK, now after all that, I just might start READING your resume. Think about my motivation. I have a big pile of applicants; 125 to go through this morning for one job. What am I looking for in these resumes? Do you think I'm rooting for each one to be a real winner? Do you think I hope every one I pick up will be THE ONE? No. What I'm looking for is the most piddley little reason to reject you. I WANT to trash your application packet! Why? Because I'm a sadistic, evil little H.R. minion who loves dashing people's hopes and dreams? Well perhaps, but if not I certainly am a little H.R. minion who's overworked and underpaid and the best way to find 6 or 8 finalists out of this pile of resumes is to find a reason, any reason, to reject most of them within the first eight seconds. That means you could be Jesus Christ and Mohammad all rolled into one and if you don't know the difference between there and they're, the company will forego the pleasure of your service.

In other words your resume must not only feel and smell right, it must read right. There absolutely must be no spelling or grammatical errors. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

The trouble is, most of us can't write worth a damn.

Two generations of non-education in America's public schools is a topic Carey Rundel has a lot to say about, but perhaps that's better left for another time. Meanwhile the sad fact is, the majority of today's resumes have glaring mistakes in spelling and grammar. And don't even get me started on cover letters. Oh yeah- we're going to cover cover letters. Good grief. Where can I sign up to be that proctologist again?

At the very least, PLEASE give someone else your first draft resume to read ALOUD. Listen carefully and you'll catch lots of mistakes you might miss by just reading. Louis Brandeis once said "There is no such thing as good writing, only good rewriting." That's most certainly the case for resumes and cover letters. This is a process. You should not hand a resume to a prospective employer without it having undergone at least three checks and revisions. But now, on to the content.

Yes, content from the perspective of the applicant this time. We've already determined that, from the perspective of the employer, this resume is intended to screen you out. What is your resume intended to do from your perspective? Its sole purpose is to lay out the reasons why you are the candidate to solve the employer's problem...and get you an interview. How will it do that?

It will do that because you have done your research. You know the job you want and you have a copy of the job posting. You've read all the requirements and qualifications. And you've drawn upon your inventory of skills and experience to craft- yes, CRAFT a resume specific to the job and focused on answering the employer's need. You have a document that proves you're the solution to her problem.

I use the word "craft" intentionally. Writing is a craft requiring practice and improvement. But again, on to the content.

At the very least a resume is a document outlining:

· Your contact information

· The job you want

· Your educational qualifications for it

· Your work experience for it

· Other supporting voluntary and ancillary experience for it

That's it. Simple, to the point, slam, bam, thank you ma'am. One page. Targeted. Focused. A laser beam directing the prospective employer to the most vital information showing how you will solve his problem. Let me just touch on some of the bullets above to flesh out the bones. There is a whole book in each of them, but I can try to keep it to a minimum.

Everything is set 12 point Times New Roman. Do not try to impress by standing out. If it looks weird, Minion will trash it.

Contact information:

Top header. Your name, address, phone and email.

· Centered or justified right. Not to the left.

· Professional grade email. "Jconner@gmail.com", yes. "partygirl69@hotmail.com", no. Oh, and remove that damn hyperlink before you print the resume.

· As far as the phone goes- I can't tell you how many prospective candidates I've tried to call for an interview appointment only to be assaulted by some kind of head banging rap instead of a ring tone. And if someone else is at the number you leave, please make sure that they are sober and awake if they pick up. And then there are the ones whose voice mail box is full and can't accept any more messages...or the ones whose voice mail message sounds like they recorded it while stoned... I just hang up and go on to the next candidate.

Education.

· List your schooling in reverse chronological order. That means most recent to oldest. If you have college classes you do not need to list high school. List any degrees and credentials along with the schooling where you received them.

· If you have not yet graduated it's OK to list the anticipated date of graduation.

· It's good to list courses you've taken that are relevant to the job. Don't list course numbers, just list their titles so the reader can get a good idea of the training you've had.

Work experience.

This is the biggie. Again it must be listed in reverse chronological order (latest to oldest). You probably don't need to go back more than 10 years. Remember you control the content of your resume, not your employer. You don't necessarily need to list everything. Be sure to choose only what's relevant for the job you're focusing on.

Now we come to my biggest peeve; resumes that list previous employment and just tick off a list of duties at each job. Sounds like 90% of the resumes out there. And it's absolutely the wrong thing to do.

Here's the money point:

If I'm an employer who has a problem and I'm looking for someone to solve it, I don't give a crap what you did in your previous jobs. I only care what you can bring to THIS job to solve my problem! Do you see the difference? I just want to know what VALUE you are going to bring me in exchange for all those wages and benefits I'm paying you. How will you structure your resume to address that?

Here's where your homework comes in. You have researched the job. You know why it's available. You know what the requirements are. You can articulate the problem the employer has and you can explain why you are the solution. Now you can take every past job you've done and list them on the resume in reverse chronological order. Then you can list duties you performed on those jobs...but in a way that points out the value you brought to that job and how the skills, knowledge and abilities you used there will transfer to this position! You are making it blatantly obvious that the things you did in your previous employment are exactly the things I need to solve my problems now! You can do this even if you have to list that sandwich artist job in junior high. There is something you did at that job that shows that you are the right candidate for this job. You just have to find it and tell me about it.

Here's an example:

Suppose the job you want is a 911 dispatcher with the police department. You've done the research- they are expanding and hiring a second dispatcher to work the night shift with the current night dispatcher and you meet the minimum qualifications. You have the job posting and you know that they are looking for someone with good communication skills, good listening skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize. In fact you've even called the station, got through to someone on the hiring committee and learned that fluency in Spanish would be a plus. Good for you- that's the Carey Rundel way!

Old resume job listing:

Janitorial Service, Newman School District, Wichita, KS, 2003- 2005

o Mopped floors

o Cleaned rooms according to instructions

o Worked with other janitors

o Made sure rooms were locked

BORING! And relevant how?

New resume job listing:

Janitorial Service, Newman School District, Wichita, KS, 2003- 2005

o Responsible for cleanliness, sanitation and security of 32 classrooms

o Accurately fulfilled written and verbal instructions from shift supervisors every night

o Communicated effectively with colleagues using both English and Spanish

o Ensured that every room was detailed and ready for the next day's class in a timely manner

Now you have to admit that being a janitor at a school would normally not be considered a great background for a career change to a 911 dispatcher. But look at that second resume snippet. Doesn't that speak well of this person's potential in the new job? See the trigger words that match the job posting? Responsible- Accurate- Communicate- Detail- Spanish- Timely. Compare that to the first listing. Sign her up right now! The first listing may be an honest representation of her duties but it doesn't sell a damn thing. The second listing is an honest representation of the same duties but it certainly sells the candidate! Unfortunately the first listing is mostly what we get.

So let's recap.

The Tao of resumes boils down to these few points:

o A resume is a targeted, unique sales instrument focused on getting you past the Minion's 8 second test.

o You have total control of its content and presentation.

o It is written for one specific job.

o It is a tool you use to get an interview.

o It's a tool the employer uses to not give you an interview.

o It must be, as Mary Poppins put it, "Practically Perfect in Every Way."

o Sorry.

o No grammar or spelling errors.

o One page. At most two ONLY if you are a seasoned professional.

o Includes only relevant, targeted information that SELLS you for that one job

o Crisp, clean, easy to read

o Feels good in the hand

If you can pull all this together, you might just get past Minion's 8 second test and onto the "Further Consideration pile. There you go. Good luck.

How to Develop Rap Flow

,
HOW TO MAKE RAP BEAT:

Flow is no great secret, despite what some may say. Singers have flow. Preachers have flow. With a little hard work, you can have flow.

How to Develop Rap Flow

It is, simply put, the vocal quality of your voice. I'd like to take the mystery out of flow in this article. Here's how to strengthen your flow:

MC's are essentially made up of two parts: flow and lyrics. In this exercise you only care about flow. Play a beat and freestyle over it, going as long as you can without stopping to breathe. Don't worry about rhyming; you can just as easily "doo whap" your way through the exercise. The focus should be on developing sounds that connect with each other and the beat.

Try rapping in different accents: English, French, Middle Eastern, whatever. You may laugh, but look at Slick Rick. Next time you freestyle with others, try to focus on lyrics. When you freestyle alone, focus on flow. When you are comfortable with both, try incorporating them together.

Lastly, you want to change your speed. Start off trying to rap as fast as possible, but with a constant beat (early Outkast albums are a lot like this). Then, slow it down and try and keep in time. Now, try to rhyme super fast for eight measures, then super slow for eight measures, then super fast for eight measures, and so on. By working out the extremes, you'll feel much more comfortable changing your speed while rapping, which will make you sound more original and polished.

How to Rap Like Eminem - An MC Case Study

,
HOW TO MAKE RAP BEAT:

Arguably one of the greatest rappers of all time, Eminem is also remains one of the most versatile- razor sharp lyrics coupled with a wholly original sound make him one tough act to follow. A whole new generation of rappers want to learn how to rap like Eminem just as kids on the court want to play like Lebron James. Here are a few steps you can take to sharpen your skills like Slim Shady himself:

How to Rap Like Eminem - An MC Case Study

Harness the power of internal rhymes. One of the main differences between Eminem and most rappers is his consistent use of internal rhymes. For example, instead of saying "faster than an overweight person who sits down quickly" he says "faster than a fat man that sat down too fast." The more lines in a single line demonstrate a higher level of lyrical skill.

But it's not just internal rhymes. As you can see, "fat," "that," and "sat" all rhyme, but there are several other words with similar vowels: "faster," "than," "man," and "fast." By using words with similar vowels--though not necessarily rhymes--Eminem has hundreds of more words at his disposal for any given verse. This is known as "assonance" and is something you must master if you want to learn how to rap like Eminem.

So how do you go about improving your use of assonance? Simple.

When writing a verse, jot down a few words you'd like to rhyme off of- let's use "attack" as an example. choose three words that sound like "attack" but don't rhyme with it. For example, you could use "smash," "grab" and "taxed." Then, consult your rhyming dictionary and choose five words that rhyme with "smash, grab and taxed." Once you do this, you'll have fifteen words that are closely related to "attack" but aren't as obvious as "back," "crack," "slack" etc.

If you want to learn how to rap like Eminem, you MUST master the use of assonance, as this is the key to his verse development and his unique flow. Practice these exercises and you'll start to see a definite improvement in your lyrical skills.

Equipment to Make Beats - The 4 Things You Need to Make Your Own Rap Beats

,
HOW TO MAKE RAP BEAT:

A Music Production Software

Equipment to Make Beats - The 4 Things You Need to Make Your Own Rap Beats

This is probably the most important piece of equipment to make beats. Your choice of software could have implications in the style you develop as a music producer. But for somebody starting from zero I would recommend to not pay too much for this yet.

Most of the peripherals needed to make beats come with light versions of popular music software. Even though the purpose is to temp you to upgrade to the more expensive versions, these light editions have more than enough sounds to keep anyone going for a long time.

If you have absolutely no experience you could check something like Sonic Pro, a very popular online program that for only .00 USD offers a sequencer, sounds, instruments and more important, video tutorials on how to make your own beats.

An Audio Interface

One of the most important reasons why to get a decent audio interface is their handling of a common problem with computers and music, latency. This is the amount of time that it takes the computer to process an incoming signal.

Latency can create very annoying issues when making beats, like playing a midi note and hearing the sound a second later. It would be extremely difficult to record live that way. Also if you want to connect instruments, external synths and drum machines, audio interfaces feature the proper inputs.

A Midi Controller

Most of today midi controllers plug to the computer via USB and are recognized automatically by most music software, requiring almost no technical knowledge to get them going.

The most popular midi controllers come in 2 flavors, keyboard or pads. The keyboard is the most popular and the most practical, but rubber pads can yield more rhythmically interesting beats. Even better is the new breed of controllers that blend both together.

Monitors

It might seem like the least important feature for someone getting started, but this depends on how much you enjoy making music. The issue lies in the reproduction of the entire frequency spectrum. Small computer speakers by default mess with the audio content, hyping up frequencies because of their inability to fully reproduce them.

Even though the monitors at beginner prices are not the full solution, as you go up in price you start to get a more realistic image of the sound you're working on. At lower prices most monitors still hype up the sound a little, but in a way that compliments music making and not video game playing.

How to Rap Better - 5 Rap Freestyling Tips

,
HOW TO MAKE RAP BEAT:

If you want to find out how to rap better, then read this now. You will learn to rap so you can impress your friends and win rap battles.

How to Rap Better - 5 Rap Freestyling Tips

Step #1: Use the 1-2-3-4 formula

If you want to learn how to rap, then always follow the 1-2-3-4 phase formula. You can turn every hip hop song into a 4 step beat formula. Every time there is an emphasis in the rap, that is one of the 4 numbers.

An easy way to use this formula is to use your hand and move from left to right every phase. That will make it easier when to make your flow rhyme. You want to usually rhyme on the same phase of the formula.

For example, you want to rhyme every 4th phase. So the next 4th phase you want to make your word rhyme with the previous 4th phase of the 1-2-3-4 formula.

Step #2: Rap with other friends

Another secret on how to rap better is to freestyle rap with your friends. It is much more fun to freestyle rap with friends than to do it yourself. But you can make it a playful competition by freestyling against each other for fun. This will make your freestyle rapping skills to improve much faster than before.

If you can't find anyone to rap with, just go to an online voice chatroom and look for a chatroom that has a lot of hip hop fans. You will easily find people who are willing to freestyle rap with you or battle. Just have fun because the more you have fun, the more you will get better at freestyling.

Step #3: Create your own "Emcee Identity"

Another tip to learn to rap is create your own rapper identity. A lot of hip hop emcees try too hard to be someone else. They want to be like the next big hit so they make their hair look like the latest hip hop artist or rapper. But when you do that, you lose a lot of your own originality.

Instead of trying to be someone else, take some time to reflect on who you are. Look into your own life experiences and find out what makes you unique. Whatever that is, add them up to create your own unique emcee identity. Once you create your own rapper identity, you will have more ownership to it and thus you will have much more conviction and power when you rap.

Step #4: Use a rhyming dictionary

To improve your rhyming skills, just get yourself a rhyming dictionary. A rhyming dictionary is a dictionary that gives a list of rhyming words. This is a very helpful tool to help you incorporate words to make your freestyle rhyme and sound better.

Step #5: Focus on your own skills

A lot of rappers focus too much on other rappers. That is not good because you can end up being discouraged if you see other hip hop artists do better. So don't focus on other people's lives or their rapping skills. Instead, focus on your own skills. The more you focus on your own freestyle rapping skills, the faster you will improve as a hip hop artist.

How to Rap Better - Some Helpful Tips

,
HOW TO MAKE RAP BEAT:

Wanting to know how to rap better is not an uncommon thing for aspiring Mc's to want to know. Yes, it is true that if you ask ten seasoned rappers this question, you probably will get ten different answers. In this article, I will go over some pretty universal helpful tips that can help any up and coming MC that is wanting to know how to rap better.

How to Rap Better - Some Helpful Tips

Before I go into the tips, I do want to let you know that despite what some may think, rapping is a true art that can be mastered by anyone that is truly serious about becoming a real MC. Some of today's biggest and most talented rap stars may have been blessed with some natural rhyming ability, but even they had to learn the art of rapping to get to the level that they are at.

Now let's get into some helpful tips that will surely help any aspiring MC..

Study Others - What I mean is, listen to those that you look up to and respect as a MC. This doesn't have to be some super famous rapper. This can be a local rapper that you feel is really talented as a rapper. When starting out, you should listen to those you admire as much as you can. You will eventually start to pick up some of the skill traits that they have. Don't try to mimic the way the rapper acts or talks, just listen to pick up on the way they put certain sentences together and the way they emphasize certain words. Studying others can be very helpful, and it's easy to do.

Record Yourself - I would invest in a small little voice recorder (nothing fancy). Use this to record yourself rapping. This will allow you to listen to yourself rhyming and help critique your flow easier. Sometimes a rapper really needs to hear themselves before they can improve their skills.

Write About Different Subjects - One thing that a great MC must have is creativity, and one of the best ways to improve your creativity as a rapper is to write on various topics. I'm talking about writing rhymes about anything and everything. Write rhymes about a television show you watch or the girl you like, it doesn't matter what it is, just write.

Freestyle Rap - Even if you really do not care for freestyle rapping, you still should do it. The more you freestyle rap the better your overall flow and delivery will become.

Get Opinions - I know this can be difficult at times, but getting honest opinions from people can help you better your rap. If you are going to be a real MC, you must be willing to take some criticism. Take this criticism and use it to make yourself a stronger MC.

This article was written to help those wanting to learn how to rap better. Using these tips will definitely improve your rap game.

Good Luck
